inspiration #1 - a 50s/vintage prom wedding

So I was thinking . . . what about having prom for a wedding? :D I remember my prom it was only 2 years ago! *tear * I miss it I had a lot of fun. My boyfriend and I wore red and than his friends decided to wear red as well. My boyfriend also decided that he wanted an al capone inspired suit and than one of his friends decided that he also he wanted al capone inspired suit. sigh . . . boys . . .

My Prom

The boys . . .

Me and my friend also wearing red dresses, my dress was an empire waist , drop down dress with no puffiness! ;)

me and the bf, he looked good in his gangster suit :D

The Idea
. . . but i was thinking about a vintage prom or a fifties inspired prom for a wedding theme. And which movie could help with some inspiration . . . Grease!

Sandy's white dress can be either the bride's dress or an influence for the bridesmaids dresses. You can see the balloons and paper strings hanging on the roof.
I also found the board below at Snippet & Ink which has colors that would be cute for a prom wedding. The colors are cotton candy blue and lemon ice. I also think that pink accents, like pink peonies in the centerpieces, or pink roses for corsages would be cute.

The balloons in the ballroom can resemble decorations that are normally in a school dance.

Also on Snippet & Ink, I found a vintage prom inspired wedding {link} that snippet and ink put on the blog. This wedding has a lot of good ideas for a prom-wedding.

Look at the dresses the bridesmaids wore, it looks like a fifties prom court.

I really like this picture of them dancing.

The Reception
And now a couple of pictures I collected that can help with the prom theme.

A pastel colored cake that I found on Martha Stewart, it also has pleats on it which can resemble a fifties dress.

Bouquets of different colors for the bridesmaids, or even have them as centerpieces. (Martha Stewart)

Pom-Poms! They can also be used as decorations on the roof of the ceiling.
Corsages . . . :D

{link}
The bridesmaids can wear corsages. Martha Stewart has a post on how to make the corsage above click on the link above.

{link}
Flower girls can have corsages too, also if you click on the link, Martha Stewart has a tutorial on how to make the cute corsage above.

and the favor . ..

And for favors, I found this candy from the 1950's on cracker barrel, It has pretty much the candy that was popular on the fifties.Click on the link above for more info.
The Bridesmaids Dresses

{link}
The bridesmaids dress are from Samuelle Couture and they are very fifties inspired dresses and they would look really cute on the bridesmaids.

The Bride

All 3 of these dresses I found them on Rosa Clara website (just click above). Rosa Clara is a spain based wedding designer :D. (not just because I love spain) These dresses actually remind me of a fifties bride. On the website if you don't read spanish there is the english version so no worries.

So I hope that helps I also found on beau-coup.com/blog more ideas for a prom wedding and they also refer to the vintage-prom wedding that snippet & ink showed.
